Just wanted to say a huge thank you to the staff working on Sunday afternoon for taking such good care of our cocker spaniel Woody after his little adventure, forever grateful to them and the good Samaritans who found him and took him the main branch. Looks like he lost his collar tag along the way, thank goodness we kept his microchip details up to date!

Flint, 6 days after a Vestibular Disease attack. Back to normal, walking in the woods. Thanks again Natalie and all at Abbey Vets. It's nice to know that you are genuinely concerned about our pets welfare. Always had such good service.
A very big thank you to Laura at your Royston branch for her skill and care when one of our pugs Roxie, sustained a substantial cut to her paw. Thank you.

Lucy had been a patient at Abbey vets for quite a few years and the reason we drove miles for her health care was because of the last word in that phrase…care… One constant in her life has been the personal attention, expert treatment and good advice she has benefited from at Hoyland Abbey vets. Now our little girl has gone I want to thank everyone at the Hoyland Branch for your care and help over the years and a genuinely heartfelt thank you for sending that card and poem, it made arriving home on this first awful work day without her just that little bit easier. If anyone is reading this looking for a good veterinary service I cannot recommend this company highly enough.
Mr & Mrs Cox

I’d like to thank everyone at Abbey Vets who cared for my beloved Poppy when she was so poorly and who were so kind, understanding and helpful to me. I’d especially like to thank the nurse who helped to make our last few minutes together special. It has been a great comfort to me to know that I had the chance to say goodbye properly.
My family and I cannot thank Abbey vets enough for the care and treatment they have given and continue to give to our dog, pippa. Pippa has been under the care of abbey vets from being a few weeks old and has regular visits right up to now, nearly 8 years later. I would not allow anyone else to look after her. The care, treatment and after care are all first class and I would recommend them to anyone. A massive thank you to you all, especially John and Kate at high green, your all fantastic 🙂
To everyone who cared for Bailey during his recent stay with you, especially Mel who did the operations, a very big Thank You. He wouldn’t be with us now if it wasn’t for all of you.
Huge thanks to everyone at High Green and Barnsley surgeries for the years of treatment and care of my three beautiful cats, Furball, Killer and Boots and for your compassion and sensitivity at the hardest times. I would never dream of taking my second generation, Molly and Lily to any other practise.
Thank you very much for the excellent care shown to my old boy during his recent visits to the practice – it’s very much appreciated!
To everyone wh cared for Eddie Hirst during his stay with you, We cannot thank you all enough, especially the phone calls to keep us informed at what was a very worrying time for us! Many Thanks

Just dropped Tibo off for an operation and was very impressed with the love and attention the nurse and the vet showed Tibo. Please look after my little friend. Thank you

Just want to say how pleased I was with the service at the Wombwell branch. It was a shame our experience ended on a sad note however am more than grateful for the kind compassionate service from our Vet Surgeon Brian O’Donovan. He is a credit to Abbey Vets and I will not hesitate in using this branch again in the near future. Thanks 🙂
Thank you for all the help & support you gave to Bruce our beloved dog. Your vet staff have been very supportive & understanding at this difficult time.

I am writing to express my appreciation for the kind, compassionate and caring treatment given to my cat, Molly, during her recent illness. I was treat at all time with compassion and sensitivity, I felt assured that Molly’s well-being and best interests was paramount. I would particularly like to thank Louise, Mel and team for their kindness when Molly finally succomned to her illness and for their support and compassion throughout and emotional and painful time.
We would like to thank vet Katie and nurse Sara on the kind and professional way they helped our Suey on her journey over Rainbow Bridge.
We would also like very much to thank Rebecca (Cudworth branch) for caring for Suey after her stroke giving us an extra 2 years. Without Rebeccas help it would not have been possible

CHANGE IN OUT OF HOURS EMERGENCY COVER
After caring for our clients and their pets for the last 45 years with full 24hour Emergency Care – we find we are no longer in a position to be able to carry on providing a full night service.
The toll on our Abbey Team, Vets, Nurses and Receptionists during this horrific 12 months of Covid has been extreme to say the least.
We will continue to provide full 24 hour Veterinary and Nursing care to Hospitalised pets and attend to emergencies during our opening hours.
However, we can no longer be on call for any new emergencies which may come in after our normal working surgery hours.
It saddens us greatly and we sincerely regret this decision but currently, we are unable to continue to provide this service.
From now on at night 'VETS NOW' in Sheffield and Doncaster will be responsible for assisting you with any emergency, essential queries or urgent medical needs you have for your pet. When we are closed our telephone answering machine will provide this number.
They are a night service only and do not open during the day.
We will still be responsible for handling your pet-related Emergencies between:
8am and 8 pm Monday to Friday
8am until 5pm Saturdays and Sundays.
8am until 5pm on Bank Holidays
As normal, routine booked appointments on Weekends and Bank Holidays are at our standard fees.
