Puppy and Kitten Health Check

Give your new best friend the best possible start in life with a kitten or puppy health check.

Welcoming a new puppy or kitten into your family can be a really exciting time. You’re looking forward to building a relationship with your new friend, while preparing everything he or she needs to have a long and comfortable future with you.

So how can you give your puppy or kitten the best possible start in life? The answer is simple – make sure you bring them to visit the vet regularly.

At Abbey Vets we recommend that all puppies and kittens are brought in to see a member of our team once a month until they’re 6 months old. This is simply so our experienced team can monitor your pet’s development as they grow and make sure there are no signs of any problems.

During your puppy or kitten’s consultation, one of our experienced vets will check their eyes, ears, skin, coat, teeth, paws and claws. Using a stethoscope, the vet will then listen to their heart and lungs and will finish the check by feeling their tummy for any lumps and bumps.

This is to ensure that your best friend’s health is in top condition, as well as giving the vet an opportunity to identify any abnormalities that could potentially cause a problem in the future.

Throughout the health check feel free to ask any questions you may have, especially if something has been concerning you. Our vets are here to help and will be more than happy to offer you great tips about caring for your new pet. Go now to the Abbey Vets near you!
