Brian grew up working with animals on his family’s farm in Ireland and attended university in the UK, qualifying as a vet from the University of Cambridge in the year 2000. After working initially in the Midlands, he moved to Yorkshire and joined the Abbey Veterinary Group in 2006. He has been the resident vet at the Wombwell branch since then and is coming to terms with the fact that the puppies he vaccinated back then are now well into middle age! He says “the Abbey Vets branch structure means that it’s easy for each vet to get to know people and their pets, and this is one of the most satisfying aspects of my job.”

Clinically, his main interest is in surgery, and outside of work he enjoys travel, photography and golf. He loves books and has an Open University degree in Classical Studies. Brian lives near Doncaster with his fiancée, Fiona, and their cat Lucky
