With over 35yrs in Companion Animal Practice, Tony Duffy the Principal and Founder of Abbey Veterinary Group lets us in on what makes Abbey Vets the best in the area!
Abbey Vets have been in existence since 1978 when Tony first opened its doors in Thurnscoe-- midway between Barnsley and Doncaster. The Main Centre was moved to Barnsley in 1980 and there has been a steady expansion from then to the current level of 7 Clinics across S. Yorkshire.
The Royston Clinic has been established about 6 years -- and is open all Day Monday to Friday.
Based at 13 Station Road, it is bright and clean and fully air conditioned. The full time Vet there is the experienced and very caring Anouska Simpson MRCVS and she is very capably supported by two cheerful, friendly and knowledgeable receptionists: Amy and Deborah.
Anouska is a highly motivated and dedicated veterinary surgeon with a special interest in greyhounds, she is a breeder of Afghan Hounds and Tibetan Terriers and is a Kennel Club qualified conformation judge.
All our branches offer a very personal service where you see the same Vet and receptionists every time you go.
Full 24-hour Emergency Care is provided at the superbly equipped Main Barnsley Centre (89 Dodworth Road) thus you can gain advice or emergency treatment at any time by Abbey’s own vets --- in Barnsley (3 min from J37 MI). So in an emergency the Vet will have all your pet’s health details immediately to hand.
The Main Barnsley Centre is open all day every day including Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays for routine appointments at no surcharge. ( Xmas Day emergency’s only)
You can trust Abbey Vets: they will treat your pet with all the care and attention they would give their very own ‘Best Friend’ -- 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year. They have been providing excellent care for the pets of S. Yorkshire for over 30 years and with over 120yrs of combined Veterinary experience to call on they are the Ideal Vets to choose for Your Pet.
