If your best friend ever injures themselves or falls ill unexpectedly, it is understandably a worrying time for you. However, as a member of the Abbey Vet family, we are always here to help you.

Our emergency vet service is available 365 days a year and it is provided by our main branch, the Barnsley Centre. This means that in an emergency, you can rest assured that your pet will be cared for in familiar surroundings by a team who already know them and have access to their medical records. We recognise that driving for miles to an unknown outsourced ‘emergency clinic’ is likely to only add to the anxiety of the situation, and so are passionate about offering an out-of-hours service in our own premises.

House Calls and Collections

If you are unable to travel to the practice, or if your pet is too ill to be moved safely, one of our four ambulances can collect you from home and deliver you and your pet to the surgery if necessary. House calls and collections do depend on availability but we will always do our best to accommodate your requirements, especially if the situation is urgent.
